Praise God there is a rising tide of prayer in the nation and one of the responses to this has been a national call to 24/7 prayer for the whole year of 2010. Individuals, churches or ministries can sign up on the dedicated website, www.scotland2010.org
The second national focus for prayer will be on St Andrews Day 2010.

Pray for Scotland is a prayer network that seeks to be a catalyst for the mobilisation of people to pray for every area of society in Scotland, and to believe for Community Transformation. In 2007 just before the last Scottish Elections, Pray for Scotland were led to do a 50 day prayer walk/drive combing through Scotland, from North to South and East to West making connections throughout the Nation. It started on Easter Day and ended on Pentecost Sunday with a Global Day of Prayer event in Edinburgh.
Building on the ‘connections' from the 50 days, the current vision is the promotion of Lighthouses of Prayer. Individuals or small groups from one church or across denominations meeting together in their community for prayer.
As Lighthouses emerge in churches, homes, schools, the potential is a community saturated in prayer. Lighthouses bring a message of hope, and believe for transformation as they pray for, as well as care about and share the love of Christ with their community.
There are so many requests from every area in Scotland it is a
challenge for the Team to meet the requests for Training Days.
The Team are presenting the vision to the
Church of Scotland Prayer Co-ordinators,l and the Congregational
Federation.
