Light up Britain for the Queen's Diamond Jubilee
Churches across Britain will be lighting beacons in celebration of the Queen's Diamond Jubilee on 4th June 2012. Premier Christian Media are encouraging every church with suitable buildings or land to take part in this nationwide event, throughout the United Kingdom, Channel Islands and the Isle of Man. There is a longstanding tradition in the UK of celebrating royal coronations, weddings and jubilees with beacons - on beaches, mountain tops, church towers and castles. The vision for this event is that thousands of churches up and down the land will gather their communities together for this happy occasion.
If your church would like to take part, visit http://www.churchbeacons.org.uk/ to register. Gas-fuelled beacons are available through the same website for £299+VAT + postage & packing. The last date for orders to arrive by 25 May is 12 March 2012.
