The event is organised by all the mainstream churches - Anglican, Methodist, Baptist, Catholic, Pentecostal, United Reformed and Independent Churches.  This is the second year that the event has happened, choosing Easter Sunday as the date each time.  It was at the initiation and challenge of the Bishop to originally bring together the Island churches in this way. Unity has been the prayer that sustained the momentum even though there were signs of cracks appearing which in the end we were able to overcome.

The continuing fellowship of the churches has led to the writing of a Covenant that the leaders will all sign and present at the Douglas Bay Festival in June.  The setting is a pop fest in a 5,000 seater specially erected stadium. The organisers have given the Island churches a space on Sunday morning to hold a joint service.

The current wave of unity is unprecedented in its breadth of coverage and depth of desire to keep the momentum moving forward.  We must be vigilant in our prayers and action not to allow anything to interfere with the flow of the Spirit.
