HAJJ 2011

The Hajj is an event that draws two to three million Muslims to the city of Mecca each year.  It is one of the pillars of the Islamic religion and in 2011 it will begin on 4 November.

The Hajj takes place in Saudi Arabia, the birthplace of Islam. During the Hajj, Muslims from around the world come to Mecca to perform religious acts and be cleansed of their sins. They follow what they believe to be the movements of Mohammad.

Pray for:

  • The blinded minds of Muslims who go to Saudi Arabia for this year's Hajj to be opened. Pray for them to see the light of the Gospel of the glory of Jesus Christ. ( II Corinthians 4:4)
  • Christians along travel routes and in Saudi Arabia to have the opportunity to share the Gospel with those going on Hajj. (Colossians 4:5,6)
  • Muslims participating in the Hajj to see the futility of these religious acts and to seek the true and living God. (Isaiah 64:6; I Thessalonians 1:9)
  • The Lord to reveal Himself to pilgrims in visions, dreams, signs, wonders, and miracles. (Acts 2:17)
  • Muslims to realize they can have relationship with God anywhere on earth - not just Mecca - through the life, death, and resurrection of Jesus Christ. (Romans 10:13)
  • A great harvest of souls from among the pilgrims who go on Hajj this year. Pray for multitudes of Muslims to put their faith in Jesus Christ as Savior and Lord. (Romans 10:9)
